Josh Hawkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, and Certified Humanistic Sandtray Therapist. He is currently in the Counseling doctoral program at Texas A&M Commerce. He earned his Master’s degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, and has received specialty training in Play Therapy, Activity Therapy, Group Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and Marriage and Family Counseling. His work experience includes both private practice and agency work, including SMU’s Center for Family Counseling, The Alternative School of Dallas, The Resource Center of Dallas, and Harold Murphy Counseling Center. In his training and extensive counseling experience, he has developed an expertise working with children, teens, adults, and families dealing with varying degrees of trauma. He has assisted clients in growing through depression, anxiety, family issues, parenting difficulties, and many other life challenges.
One of the key principals that Josh believes in is creating a non-judgmental environment for people to share what is happening in their lives. He provides a safe space to give children, adults, and families a place to express their emotions and grow. While helping clients through difficult times, he serves as a springboard to help walk with clients into a place of positive growth.
Josh loves speaking and presenting on counseling, at a multitude of national conferences and has also been published in the field of counseling. When he is not counseling he is finding ways to make his daughter laugh and spending time with his wife and newborn son.

Rochelle Ritzi, PhD, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Certified First Responder Counselor, and an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas, Texas A&M Commerce, and Palo Alto University. Dr. Ritzi holds a Doctoral degree in Counseling, with a specialty in Play Therapy from the top ranked play therapy program in the world, the University of North Texas. There, she became a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist Supervisor, and a Certified Child-Parent Relationship Therapy Supervisor. Her areas of expertise include play therapy, activity therapy, crisis, geriatrics, child-parent relationship training, and group counseling. Dr. Ritzi also works with couples and is a Level One Certified Gottman Therapist. Dr. Ritzi also specializes in helping individuals heal from trauma and abuse, and crisis counseling. She is a past president of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and a Mental Health Disaster Responder for the Red Cross. Dr. Ritzi provides full battery psycho-educational assessments with children aged 2 to 18. She has effectively worked with clients of all ages, with a multitude of presenting concerns, at various community counseling centers and schools in Collin, Dallas, and Denton Counties, including Parkland Hospital, where she worked with individuals and their families facing trauma, terminal illness, and women’s issues. She has also successfully worked with child and adult victims of domestic violence, and those who have a history of childhood abuse. Dr. Ritzi enjoys being involved in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing culture, and is fluent in American Sign Language and offers services in both ASL and SEE.
Dr. Ritzi has successfully conducted field advancing international research, presented regionally and internationally, given several keynote presentations, and is published in the field of counseling.
Dr. Ritzi appreciates that every person’s situation is unique and her experience has given her an understanding of the many challenges that both children and adults encounter. She applies understanding and empathy through the counseling relationship in a warm and accepting environment. Her passion is providing a safe and supportive setting for children, adolescents, and families, but most of all she loves spending time with her daughter and two furry babies
