Olivia Jett, MS
Olivia is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas under the supervision of Josh Hawkins, PhD, LPC-S. Olivia earned her Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where she received clinical training working with children, adolescents, adults, groups, and families. During her time at SMU, she received specialized training in play, activity, and expressive arts techniques to support children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, and peer relationship difficulties. She completed her clinical internship at the Irving Family Advocacy Center, where she provided individual and group counseling to children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflict, and major life transitions.
In addition to her clinical work, Olivia worked with adolescents through SMU’s College Access Program, helping high school students develop social-emotional skills, build confidence, and prepare for the transition to higher education. She also supported neurodivergent individuals through the University of Alabama’s Autism College Transition Support Program (UA-ACTS), where she worked with college students on the autism spectrum to foster independence, academic success, and social engagement.
Olivia believes in creating a warm and supportive environment where clients feel safe and understood. Her counseling style is rooted in Adlerian theory, which emphasizes encouragement, personal growth, and social connection. She tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client, incorporating creative and expressive techniques, especially when working with children and adolescents. She has a special interest in working with children, teens, and families experiencing transitions, such as divorce, blended families, behavioral concerns, and self-esteem challenges, as well as with children diagnosed with ADHD and autism.
In her free time, Olivia enjoys watching reality TV, spending time with her dog, staying active, and being with loved ones. She values the importance of self-care and mindfulness and brings those same principles into the counseling space.
