JEANNETTE SANCHEZ, MS

Counselor

Jeannette Sanchez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist™ (RPT) in Texas. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas, a CACREP-accredited program known for its top-ranked play therapy program, where she received training in counseling children, teens, adults, families, and groups. She has received specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Jeannette discovered her passion for supporting others while earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Baylor University and working closely with families facing traumatic experiences. These early encounters deepened her desire to walk alongside individuals in their healing journeys. Since then, she has had the honor of working with children, teens, adults, and groups in a variety of settings, including group/private practice, the nonprofit sector, agencies, and private schools. Jeannette has experience helping clients navigate a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, behavioral concerns, low self-esteem, trauma, parenting concerns, and family/relationship issues.

With a background in person-centered, child-centered, Adlerian, and trauma-informed approaches, Jeannette’s work is grounded in deep respect for each client’s unique story and inner strengths. She believes that healing begins within safe and supportive relationships, so she creates a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where children, teens, and adults feel seen, heard, and valued. Jeannette approaches counseling as a collaborative process walking alongside clients with compassion, encouragement, and curiosity. When working with children and adolescents, she partners closely with caregivers, knowing that connection and consistency between home and therapy are essential to lasting growth. Her goal is to help clients build self-confidence, emotional resilience, and the tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and authenticity.

When she’s not in the therapy room, Jeannette finds joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether that’s spending time with friends and family, enjoying walks in nature with a matcha latte in hand, or catching up on her favorite reality TV shows. What matters most to her is connection: sharing meaningful moments with others, being present, and finding joy in both the everyday and the unexpected. She hopes therapy feels like one of those spaces—comforting, safe, and filled with the kind of support that helps people feel more like themselves.
