MELISSA GREEAR, MS
Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate under the supervision of Rochelle Ritzi, PhD. Although Melissa is currently an Associate, she will complete her 3,000 hours toward full licensure in June 2023. Melissa graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University, Commerce. While at Texas A&M Commerce, Melissa gained clinical experience in a local community agency and a private setting, counseling children, adolescents, adults, and groups.
Melissa’s education and counseling experience include working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, women’s issues, stressful life events, relationship and family matters, grief, anger, loneliness, faith-related concerns, career uncertainty, and various mental health disorders. Melissa utilizes play therapy, activity therapy, and talk therapy to allow her clients to find their own path to peace, healing, and recovery. Although Melissa has experience working with all ages, she has a passion for working with adolescents and women, helping them increase feelings of self-worth, motivation, and create healthy boundaries.
Melissa believes that when clients find a place of acceptance and encouragement, counseling can help develop skills that remove barriers, untangle confusion, build personal strengths, and live a satisfying and fulfilled life.
When she is away from the counseling room, you will likely find Melissa spending time with her family and friends, or poolside enjoying a good book.
